In the Dec 2019 release (2.13.513), I seem to have a lost all of my plugins.

To be more precise, when I first opened it I could see ONLY the plugins I created ... not the standard ones ... It took a while to find out how to get to all the original plugins (this should have been documented). But now I can't hit the Home anymore which means I can't see any of the plugins I created. So I've got 3 questions:

1. Why doesn't clicking on the "Home" button do anything once I've clicked on any of the other menu items?
2. Is there any other way to get to my custom created plugins or do I need to import them from the backup?
3. Where are the plugins stored?
4. Where are MY plugins stored?

Hi Jeff,

the plug-ins handling is now more convenient and user-defined categories can be created.
The function to move all plug-in to the "My Apps" folder has been discontinued. This is also no longer necessary
Your created Plug-ins are not lost and can be imported easily. Just move your personal "Plug-ins" folder to the "\..\Plug-ins\" directory of CloneApp and switch the desired category in the application itself. Take a look at the screen https://imgur.com/L2Qanhl

I can't successfully import plugins anymore either. It looks like they are imported into the root folder (not the root category). And there's no way to view what in that root folder.

So I posted the following as a reply to mferguson but in case that's getting lost in old-thread...
Just like him, I can't get CloneApp to work moving from one PC to another. 
The program gives an error, then asks to re-select the ini file, then repeats the error and deletes the ini file. 
 As posted below: 
- Backup goes fine. Backup folder on Desktop. Copy to new PC Desktop. (fine)
- Open CloneApp on Target (fine)
- Click Restore, get "Backup xxxxx has been found do you want to?". Click YES
- Error popup: "CloneApp - Plug-in could not be executed - Error while loading application".
- Click OK. Get "Restore process stopped - Restoration settings could not be loaded... do you want to select..."
- Click YES. Find .ini file inside Desktop Backup folder. Click OPEN.
- Error popup - same one again: "CloneApp - Plug-in could not be executed - Error while loading application".
- Except this time CloneApp has deleted the coneapp2.ini file. Its gone missing. Totally disappeared.

Would really like to see answer to this? Is this bug or procedure error on my side or data problem or Windows permissions problem? Program looks cool but seems totally broken to me?

Well I tried again, following all instructions to the letter and it is exactly the same.

Messages are below. Do you think its related to compression? Should I try it without compression?

BTW the "file not found" is incredible annoying because it only happens after CloneApp.exe deletes the .ini file. The file is there, but the minute you try the Restore process, CloneApp deletes the file immediately, then right after that informs you that there is no file.

Well dang I thought I did but I didn't read properly. "User procedure error!"
I read 'move the backup folder' not the whole CloneApp folder. I also mis-read the user-rename instructions which I saw in the normal documentation... I may also have that problem (I'll need to check what usernames are...) I'll go and try and do it properly now! Thanks Belim!

Is there a way to only restore some of the applications that have been previously backed up? I don't see a way to do that.

Hi Jeff,

you have to options here.
1. Perform the restore separately for each application by selecting App > Restore
2. Set the boolean status in cloneapp2.ini, section [Plug-ins], key "Status=0;" or "Status=1", where 0 means it is disabled for restoration. Of course this could be a bit tedious, since CloneApp stores in the newer versions every Plug-in setting in a boolean value and not after application name.

I'd like to post a couple of plugins but I was wondering if:
 
(1)  there is a way to exclude a particular subdirectory from being cloned. For example, I want to clone the subdirectory \abc\ but exclude \abc\xyz\*.*
(2) Put comments in so that I can explain why that subdirectory needs to be excluded.

Hi

I have a problem with the Firefox PlugIn that it will not backup my Profile Folder but some other similar folder.
I have modified the PlugIn to backup my Profile Folder but the modification is kind of "Hard Coded". Can you try to modify the original PlugIn so it will backup ALL folders under the "Profile" folder?

This is the one it backups with the original PlugIn:
CloneApp\Backup\Mozilla Firefox\%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Profiles\dk6z2ebm.default-release

And this is the one I needed to add to the PlugIn:
CloneApp\Backup\Mozilla Firefox\%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\i6mptk7b.default-1548853587534\i6mptk7b.default-1548853587534

Hi,

I don't quite understand your question. Why is the Firefox profile in the second example located in the CloneApp folder?

If you want to backup the default Firefox Profile folder, you could use this line of code
File1=BackupFolder|$FirefoxProfile$

instead of backing up the whole Profile directory (which could indeed preserve all available Profiles)

Hi!

I have modified some PlugIns for CloneApp like the Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint...) To add the setting for the Quick Launch bar and created a new ones for Apps I use.

How can I send them to you so you can Integrate them in the software?

I have backed up apps on one computer and am trying to restore the settings to another computer.  I keep getting the message that the restoration file can not be found.  I locate it, then the error pops up again and the file is no longer in the directory where it was previously.  How do I restore settings to a different computer?

I copied everything to my server and of course did not read the instructions on how to perform a restore. It prompted me for the restoration file and same thing happened as above the restoration disappeared. Do you have a app to regenerate the restoration file?

Your locale.ini is a Unix type encoded text file. The attached one should work. As you see in the attached screen some elements are to long and truncated. Also the left navigation controls doesn't support Unicode. The Português "Prévia" is not displayed correctly

Thanks for that, I've changed Unix (LF) to Windows (CRLF) in Notepad++ and shorted the truncaded strings. I'll upload the new translation soon.
